About
Kangatraining is a babywearing postnatal fitness class designed especially for mums and their babies. It combines exercise, movement and fun in a supportive and welcoming environment, while allowing you to keep your baby close.
The classes focus on postnatal-safe exercise, helping mums gradually rebuild strength and fitness after pregnancy and birth. Babies are incorporated into the class and, for part of the workout, are carried safely in a suitable baby carrier.
You do not need to be fit or have previous exercise experience to join. Classes are designed so you can work at a level that is comfortable for you.
When can you start?
You can generally begin Kangatraining from 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 12 weeks after a C-section, once you have received clearance to return to exercise from your healthcare professional. If your recovery has been more complicated, you may need to wait a little longer.
Where are classes running?
Kangatraining classes are currently available in:
- Longford Town, Co. Longford
- Mullingar, Co. Westmeath
- Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim
Kangatraining is about much more than exercise. It’s an opportunity to get moving, meet other mums, enjoy time with your baby and become part of a supportive community — without needing to arrange childcare.
