Westport’s music and arts festival is back for 2026.
Westival, formerly known as the Westport Arts Festival, takes over the town from Wednesday 28 October to Sunday 1 November with five days of music, theatre, art and live performance, featuring artists from Mayo and across Ireland.
The big night is Saturday 31 October, when Mórshiúl na Samhna, a free Samhain procession presented by LUXE and titled “Honouring the Ancestors”, fills the streets with lanterns, music, colour and masks. It sets off at 7pm from the town centre, winds around The Mall and finishes up at the Fairgreen. All ages are welcome, so bring the whole family and be part of it.
Other highlights in the 2026 programme include Fishamble’s King, a Rocky Horror Picture Show night, Dave Lofts, the free McGings Open Art Exhibition and a free fire performance by Strix Nebulosa. There are over 30 events in all, with something on every day of the festival.
Westival is for anyone who loves music, theatre and the arts, for families looking for something special at Halloween, and for visitors exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. Events take place in venues across Westport town.
